I am looking to buy a new rifle chambered in 458 Lott, I am undesided between the Ruger magnum or the CZ American safari with the fancy stock. Both of these rifles are about what I want to spend, so any advice would help.

I have a new, unfired, original box stainless No.1 in 458 lott - if you become interested in a single shot.

Ruger either way. The #1 kicks more than the RSM. It HAS TO HAVE a new recoil pad. It shoots well and has a barrel and a half. The RSM, out of the box, is IMHO the best 458 Lott there is.Custom guns excuded.
With the Rib,Ruger Rings are QD rings. I put Tasco Titian 1.25X4.5 30mm straight tube and fired away. The CZ needs $ stock work first.

There is a CZ in .458 Lott with a Swarovski 1.5-6x42 on gunbroker. Buy it so I don't, I don't really need it. The last time I looked it was up to about $1050, hadn't met the reserve, but hell you can't buy the scope for $1050.

Its Done I ordered myself the Ruger 77 mkII RSM, I had the chance to play with one a few months back and it fit real good, very natural point for me.
Thanks

I don't think you'll regret getting the RSM. Trigger job and new recoil pad and you should be good to go.

Agreed, I have a RSM 458 lott, that I got back before Christmas. It is a FANTASTIC rifle. I love it! It sure is a blast to shoot too. One thing... you will want to put a new recoil pad on it as well. I went with a decelerator pad and it is MUCH nicer to shoot. I got mine for about $1100 shipped... can't beat that! I had a chance to buy some more for that same price and am kicking myself for not getting a 375 as well.
