A special thanks to Canuck for taking and putting the videos together on my visit to Chetwyn. My Son is in the process of loading them up on the site as I type. I hope you enjoy them. One shows the two fastest shots with a double I've ever seen.
Take care,
Dave

Thanks for posting the new videos.

Great video of you guys getting the sh** kicked out of you. I would be intimidated firing those kickers with the scope installed.

I enjoyed the old vids of you shooting the 470 rapid fire. A very impressive display I must admit. How does the recoil of the 470 Mbogo compare with the 505 Gibbs?

I would think that the 505 with the standard loads in a similar rifle would be so close that it wouldn't really make much difference. Once the recoil is over 80 ft.lbs there is lots of it and another ten ft lbs.doesn't really notice that much. When we took this video we were a bit rushed and a cold front moved in earlier that morning. It was about 5 below and snowing some. I was freezing and just shooting instead of standing into the rifle which makes the recoil movement a bit more than normal for me in the offhand shots. Chris shot the rifle very well with good control. I did get touched by the scope on one shot. I should have been charged with shooting with undue care and attention. We did have good fun though.
Take good care,
Dave

Hi Dave!
Do you remeber when i post that "2 shots at the same with a double rifle"
Now it have been done. What caliber does that double rifle have???
Does the stock hold when you shot 2 shots at the same?
What a stopping power with a 2 shots at the same with a double in caliber .700 [Big Grin] And then to the hospital [Frown]

Thanks! // Overkill

Dave

I wasn't being critical in my previous post, Just my feeble attempt at humor. I don't think I've seen anyone handle a big bore better than you.

Hi Scrollcutter
I just thought I would explain the conditions because they were so weird. Earlier that morning I took Canuck's dog out and you could have just had shorts on and by 2:00 pm the temperature had dropped to -3 and it started to snow with a cutting wind.
I think Canuck is doing a real good job with the big gores. It wasn't my best range day. But we did have fun.
Take care,
Dave

Hi Overkill
The rifle is a 500/416 and two rapid shots like that would only work for a Buffalo - Duck combination hunting trip. You would have to be real lucky on getting the Duck.
Take care,
Dave

I just close my eyes, hold the gun real tight, whisper a prayer and jerk the trigger. [Big Grin]

Dave, you are too honest. I wasn't going to tell anyone about the little nick. [Smile] You are my "Big Bore Mentor" after all.

Cheers,
Canuck

Hi Canuck,
I'm busy pounding back Buffalo smokies so I can put a little more weight behind that stock. Thanks again for all the video work and putting the clips together. My camera should arrive within the month so I can go through my African videos and put some more clips together.
Take care,
Dave
