Help with Mauser in .458 Win Mag
I have a Mauser chambered in .458 Win Mag. Need help identifying it. Has markings under the barrel "Federal, Oakdale,PA.", Also on the barrel it has stamped *BT*. Ser. # is MAG20092, on the very rear of the receiver, left side it says, "STA.BARBARAIND-SPAIN". On the bottom of the receiver lug, it has stamped M 239. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think it is a commercial Mauser, but not sure. Here are a few pic's.

There is a Federal Firearms gunshop in Oakdale PA.

I remember years back they sold after market actions.

E.R.Shaw barrel makers is just down the road from them. Its possible they may have put a barrel on it.

I agree with the first to replies. BTW, I think your trigger is cracked.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Thank you, gentlemen. Any idea on the value? It has a pretty decent thumbhole stock on it.

Thanks again,
