Hi Guys: I hear Alliant came out with a RL-17 powder. Anybody play around with any loads for the 470 NE with this powder yet? I use 89 grains of RL-15 with the dacron stuffer right now. Just wondering if RL-17 is loadable to around 2150 to 2200 FPS without adding the stuffing. I did a seacrch on the reloading, big bore and Double Rifle forums, nothing about any new loads. Regards... How does the Burn rate/pressure rise curve compare to RL-15?-Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise! | |||

Quickload shows that the pressure would be a little less than RL15. It would take about 95.5 grains to get to the 2150. However it must be a little more dense than RL15 because you only pick up about 1% more case volume so I would assume that dacron or something alike would still be required for filler.....
