big willwhat the largest press?
What would be the largest press you can buy for 8-bore, 4-bore and the mightly 2-bore? Or can be bore out to handle the 2-bore cartridge?

Michael RobinsonRCBS Big Max A4. Great press.
No longer made and hard to come by, because those who have them don't want to part with them.

anonymousbobI use a converted 36 ton hydrolic log splitter. Of course it is overkill for most stuff. A press can be as big as you want. A simple RCBS with 50 cal extention will work with the 8 and the 4 bore. not sure if the 1 1/2 inch dies will work with a 2 bore

jeffeossoBob,
is that electric and dual acting? seriously, that's a cool idea

anonymousbobIt is a Gas powered dual acting. we cut off the "cutting wedge" and welded on a plate with threads set up for a shell holder. Then welded a 3" threaded sleeve to the base. Right now I use big 3" dies for some stuff (mostly swaging)then I have a 1 1/2 inch adapter for the smaller "big dies". it has a whole lot of power so you have to be careful and it is not the best for bullet seating.

You mean like natural gas fired turbine or 100LL av gas or just sour gas??

Like to see what he's loading which requires a press that large ...??

The RCBS "Big Max" is a GREAT press, i really like mine. It starts up where the Rockchucker leaves off!

RNSI worked that press at the shot show and it is a very well made machine and it is huge. They use a 50 cal military ammo can to catch the loaded rounds and the case feeder is the size of a trash can.

RNSthey plan on it to load down to the 308 win.
