The pictures look staged, but looks like Ruger is delivering their promise.

My POS dial up is too slow to wait for that link. Did they ever say what the EXACT groove diameter is supposed to be? (as if I would believe them anyway)

YIPPEEEEEE!!! clap clap clap Any idea on retail price yet? probably not huh? I can't wait for them to get to the shelves. With a family and only one income (which will change in Feb.), I should be able to afford one by the spring.

Mike,
There wasn't mention of the bore size, but the picture showed the rifle with some Hornady factory loads. That might give you a clue, but then again Hornady may be doing something different...

I might be wrong, but I am getting the feeling that Ruger has a product developoment guy who has infiltrated the AR forum. If they come out with an upgraded 77 plains game rifle in .338-06 and 9.3x62 and a double rifle in .450-400 and .470 we'll know for sure. If an employee of Ruger is here, go ahead and make yourself known.

My very first custom gun was a Ruger No. 1 in .450/400 I had built about 10 years ago. I got the reamer from JGS, had RCBS make the dies to the JGS specs, and had Chick Donnelly at Siskiyou Barrel Works make and fit the barrel. The rifle is somewhere in Alaska now.
I have missed it over the years, and if I don't end up with a No. 1 in 9.3X74R, I'll probably have one in .450/400. I just hope the Spartan .45-70 doubles don't hit the market at the same time and blow my budget.
I'm just so pleased that Ruger is paying this much attention. Maybe they will do a real favor and offer the No. 1 in .470.

or the .450 Ne in factory ruger would be nice, since i have a custom one,and bullets are much cheaper than .470 caliber.and it doesnt take so much work to get it going.

Mr. Rigby: The .450 NE is an easy one, as the reamer cleans up the belt and chamber in a No. 1 in .458. Just a bit of extractor tweaking and it's off to the range.
