Paul- I've never felt the need for more than a 2.5X on mine. Heck for what this gun is designed for, you just need open sights. I've never even shot mine at more than 150yrds anyway. -Rob

Well, UPS has delivery to my dealer scheduled for May 6th so it looks like the upcoming weekend won't see .620 bullets flying across the fields near Gramsville/Ellenville/Warwarsing NY. CRYBABY

OTH, hopefully I will ahve some other experimental bullets to load up for the maiden flight !!! Cool

I'll be tuning up my 45-100 over at Phoenicia this weekend--Just keep the elevation down at Wawarsing, so those .600 pills don't get over the mountain---I'll be forced to fire back with my really big bore

Both will be on Talley QR mounts so I guess I can sight-in with both, though I am wondering whether the 6x will ever be needed on the 600 Overkill bewildered

What say you 600 OK experts and 600 OK wannabes? coffee

Just killin time while I wait ...

Paul,
Did you go w/ the scout mount or just the receiver option on yours. I have the 2.5 up in the scout position and love it. I think the simple, rugged & reliable 2.5 is perfect for the 600's.

I didn't go with the quarter rib mount. I tried a friends scout rifle with a scope mounted in a similar position and no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't be comfortable with the scope that far away. I usually shoot with both eyes open anyway so that wouldn't be an issue for me one way or the other but that was strike two for me and the quarter-rib mount. I prefer the traditional look of a receiver mount and just couldn't get use to it when I tried it. I am having a carbon-kevlar brow-shield custom made Wink

Used to do exactly that when I lived in Brooklyn - the UPS drivers in my area all knew me Cool

I was waiting in the dealership when it arrived - packaged with obvious love and pride. Took it out and told the dealer (who I hadn't told of the caliber yet) "Look down the barrel."

His only response "Oh my God." I had brought a few loaded rounds - 900gr Kodiak, 900gr Barnes Banded Solid and a 730gr RGB missile and lined them up on his counter. The shop was speechless.

Needless to say, the pictures posted at the beginning of this thread can not do the rifle justice. I am hoping to take it for a spin on the weekend and will report to all of the outcome.

clap

Yah, have a good time at Wawarsing with that boomer----I think they have a 22 bench rest shoot going on Sat. That should shake the ground all the way to the 50 yd .22 range!! Back to Phoenicia for me for more 45-100 double regulating testing. If you try it out Sat AM, you should be able to get a Chiropractor's appointment in the afternoon....... nilly
