Thanks for the address Digital. I'll send him a letter today. I hope he is doing well. I'll ask about the patched roundballs. My guess is that it's all about the paper. I patch .45 bullets for bpc rifles. I even have a webpage for it, but nothing there for roundballs I'm afraid. MoreBS. It may be an odd size but this was made back in the 1820s. One of the earliest Langs with a low 3 digit serial number. not sure what Normal size would have been back then. NEIhandtools.com has a .630 bullet that would be about right, if I can get someone to make me a bump die to push it up to about .637 or whatever is appropriate. She is a beauty though -- Thanks Brent

A few years back I chatted with a fella from one of the Scandanavian countries that wanted to convert his recently acquired Howda pistol from pin fire to CF...After a long back and forth wherein I promised my first born daughter if he would decline to do that before he talked to R. Seyfried(BTW, I don't know if Siegfried is out of the hospital yet). He reached Ross through one of the glossy rags, and Ross wrote an article about the gun. Now I have a spare first born daughter... Anyway, try this: Ross Seyfried c/o The Double Gun Journal, PO Box 550, East Jordan, MI 49727. I doubt there is anybody that knows more about this ilk of smokepole. BTW, if you do that, ask him how he paper patches his round balls. It makes me nuts that his are so flawless... And if you don't have a subcription to DGJ you need to add that to your Christmas list. Good luck.
