I have researching big bore rifles and American Hunting Rifles looks very promising. I realize that there are alot of big bore experts on this forum so I am hoping some of you know about this company and can provide me with advise as to whether I should or should not do business with them. Thanks,

I've never used one, myself, but there are some very good reports from others who have. I know Ed Plummer slightly and find him a forthright gentleman with whom I would not hesitate to do business. I was influential in getting Ed to chamber his big magnum for the .450 Rigby and believe that if you really want that caliber, AHR is the best price around. Additionally, he has some interesting developments of his own that bear looking into. Sarge

Casey, I have one of American Hunting Rifles 500 AHR's. Except for a few monor glitches, very good rifles.Fiber optic front sight with hood and spare insert, laminated walnut stock by Artistry in Woods. The rifle has a little bit of a problem with bluing salts around the barrel band sling swivel and the front sight band, but other than that, very good work. The dies were crap, but not Ed's fault, just needs to find a die maker that has his head out of his ass. Rifle was shipped on schedule. Have had it for just over a year now. ------------------

What kind of bluing salt problems did/are you having Allen? The 450 Rigby was what I kinda had in mind. Everyone else I have seen seems to want more money than American Hunting Rifles does. Casey
