I don't know if you guys found out about this wildcat round or not but it is a 50 BMG necked down to 375 caliber with claims of 5000fps velocity with a Barnes X bullet with what grain or barrel length this is achieved I'm not sure but they claim to sell rifles in this chambering.State Arms is the company.But what are the barrels made of is my question?

They are made of standard bbl. steel,nothing special.

I shot BMG with a guy in WI that had one. It's really a neat gun. As far as the barrel life, his isn't shot out yet. However, when it does get shot out, he'll just put another one on. When 'toys' are your passion, a $500 rebarrel job is cheap :-)

ps. I haven't asked him how many shots he has put through his barrel, just so you know.

Guys, State Arms has been sold to a new owner as Klaus was killed in an auto accident in December. The new owners are not making the Mach Five model. Klaus had one of these guns as well as his other fifty cals at the knob creek shoots. Awesome weapon but not real practical unless you are into long range hunting. Still, it like everything else he made was top notch
