Guys, I may be in trouble. Am taking a Win M70 SS Classic in .375 H&H to Tanzania on 15 August. At the range today I did some rapid reloading drills with A-Zoom snap caps. If I cycle the bolt REALLY fast (as one might do in a panic), there are failures to feed. Looks like the cartidges pop up too soon. What is the fix? Increased strength magazine spring? Where do I get them? I checked the .416 that is also going ... it is fine. Help appreciated! Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Mike: Are the A-Zoom snap caps EXACT !!! replicas of .375 H&H rounds ? If not, could that be your problem ? ____________________________ .470 & 9.3X74R Chapuis' Tikka O/U 9.3X74R Searcy Classics 450/.400 3" & .577 C&H .375 2 1/2" Krieghoff .500 NE Member Dallas Safari Club

Frank, Except for mass, they're pretty darn close to the real thing. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Knifemaker, http://www.mstarling.com

Don't panic, there is no need to precipitate an MI or CVA! That snap-cap is same OAL as 300gr SP PMP round, differences are 'Spitzer' tip and much lower weight.

Take a couple of fired cases, pour 70 grains of sand inside and seat 300 grain bullets in them. Try this first. If you don't reload, just put the bullet in the dummy case and slowly push it in the right length and gently crimp the case around it with pliers. The snap caps might be so light that they don't feed correctly. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. Agree with that, the snapcaps might porpoise when live ammo will not: with heavier noses, center of gravity forward, and heavier over all. The A-Zooms I have are anodized aluminum and will alter the mechanics of feeding. You ought to be practicing rapid fire with live ammo anyway. More fun that way.
