The 585 NYATI is now done! I now have to test fire it and see what she will do. Unfortunately load info is rare. Can someone check a load of 120grs of RL-15 and a 750 gr Woodleigh SP for me in a 26 inch barrel. By my calculations it should go about 2100fps. I'm thinking of using this as a starting load for my NYATI-Rob

Rob may you please post pictures of it up. My dies should be here in the next week and then mine will should be done soon after. Waiting for the dies an Reamer from America is the only thing holding us up. We are sending the gunsmith some loaded rounds so that he can sort out the types of problems you have spoken about in regards with building yours. Have you mounted a scope??. We have purchased a 2.5x20 leupold for ours and have also purchased some warne fixed rings. We are using rem irons for backup should the scope not work out. I also bought some woodleigh blackpowder 650 grainers to try out on pigs etc. as I think they may open up really well given that they will be driven above there recomended impact velocity. ------------------ [This message has been edited by PC (edited 03-25-2002).]

PC-It's done but not fired yet. I'd post the pictures, but Hunting-Pictures website isn't working for some reason. Hopefully I'll get time this week. Just returned from SCI Las Vegas where I bought an Elephant hunt to do some real testing with this thing. I booked with Johan Calitz and old friend of mine and we both are excited to see what it will do.! I mounted masterpiece sights as well as a 2.5X20 Leupold also. Your biggest problem will be feeding and the brass. My chamber is literally only about .0005 over the reamer dimensions which are for a minimum chamber. I absolutely need to Lathe turn the brass to get it to fit. Big pain ( you know where) but once you get geared up it goes pretty quickly. For many reasons, I don't want to go the route of opening up the deck dimensions, but it is a viable alternative. I can only get two rounds down in the mag using the CZ follower, but I saw a guy at SCI who builds 505 Gibbs and he showed me a deldrin follower he made that let him get three down. Thgat and a stronger Follower spring should get me close to finished. Good luck and hope my experiences helped you.-Rob

Rob, Don G. who sometimes posts here has the QL program. You may want to search for his posts and email him. He was very kind to do some QL modeling for me in the past as well.
