Whitworth rechamber?
Has anybody rechambered a Whitworth .458 WM to .458 Lott. Can it be done? If so, is it advisable or leave the whitworth as is and use something else? Opinions and experience please. Cost estimates?

Thanks

Yes, it can be done.
You'll need to modify or replace the bottom metal, and probably the bolt stop

a conversion reamer will do the trick

Or, if you have an express rifle you can sell it to me and buy a new rifle.

I spoke with Dennis Olsen about this conversion before I bought my RSM. He was very familiar with the requirements and his quote was more than reasonable.

Frank,

I knew you would surface. I have a RSM also, but I like the way the Whitworth handles, just a mental exercise for now.

Frank, I want one of those gunslips with the zipper and handle. When are they coming?

Hi Begno. We are nearly caught up after taking a series of orders for a carry bag we are also selling. Women have been buying these like crazy @ $59.
I will be in LA on Friday next week and will check in to see where we are in production and get back with you.
I made a bunch with handles and zippers but using a synthetic sheepskin material for a special order but they seem to be too bulky to me.

Thanks for the response. Are you able to tell me who made it up or send me photos please?

I have no idea who made it. I bought it off gunbroker about a year ago for $600.00 Its been rechambered and restamped 458 lott, doesn't appear to have any action work that I can tell, other then glassbedding and recoil suppressor, everything looks factory. but it just does handle a 500gr roundnose round in the magazine with no feeding problems. I'll try to get some pic's.
