Hang on -- I want an elephant gun, a 600 Overkill seems about right. It's not about hunting. It's about the smoke and noise. Anyway, this is the "proto-type" my buddy and I worked up when he bought a machine lathe. -- Then he bought equipment for milling, welding trunions, etc. It's 1" bore, seamless, high-pressure steam pipe. 3/4" wall. 12" long. I cobbled the "carriage" out of fence parts from the feed store, and white oak pallet stock from the John Deere distributor here. Shoots a 3 oz. lead ball (or C Cell battery), we load 500 gr. F black powder. That's a 35 mm film can. Smoke cloud is about the size of a semi-truck. Echo rolls down the valley for about 20 seconds. It's great for Forth of July -- shooting "blanks." I'm out in the country. The neighbors refer to me fondly as, "The nut on the hill with the cannon." -- I think about putting it on a shoulder stock, maybe.

Hog Killer for sure! Cannon Mania sells reproductions, and even some old iron that's been around. Golf ball cannons, and even some mortars that shoot bowling balls. That's a nice piece. Local shop owner here had a deck cannon used for shooting lines to ships for rescue. Accuracy on this smooth bore of mine sux. But if it hits something, that's all she wrote. *L*
