I own (built) a 416 Taylor built on a Mauser Mark X action with a 22" barrel, Williams peep sights, PME side swing safety, Walnut stock with double cross-bolts glassbedded, 1" Decelerator pad, weight is 8 3/4 lbs.unloaded with a 1 1/4 web sling.

I have no desire to hot-rod the rifle, I wanted to approximate the classic Rigby loads, and create a handy one-gun North American battery as I spend time hunting Elk, Moose, Mule Deer, and am often in Bear country.

My current North American load which groups well is:

Win 458 Mag brass
Win mag rifle primers
68gr. IMR 3031
350gr. Speer semi-Spitzers
Velocity-2,470 ft/sec average chronographed velocity over a 10 round string.
Moderate recoil, and amazing accuracy from my rifle. flat-shooting to 250 yards.

Please share your loads and comments, BTW, I own a CZ 550 .416 Rigby, But love shooting and carrying the Taylor, because it is such a handy, easy pointing and shooting rifle.

My rifle is a home built one on a Savage action. I too use the Speer MagTip 350gr. It's the only Speer bullet in their line I like. I load mine in some old Herters 338 WM brass with a dose of Rel 15. Chronys at 2446fps and will really let the air out of big black bears.

Mine is a ruger MkII stainless with 25 in dougless barrel weighing 10lbs loaded with scope sling. I wouldn't want it ligther. I have shot everthing from 250gr cast to 350 barnes x at over 2400 hundred. I like IMR 4064 the best so far. RL15 requires a good 4 to 5 grains more to get the same vel. I wish I hadn't brought 5lbs of the stuff.

I plan on trying some 400 gr bullet when I get a deal on some. I am using resized 429 300gr bullets now for cheap shooting they are a lot cheaper then any 416 bullet I found very accurate can shoot them from the low 2000s to over 2600.

The taylor is fun and well make a good hunting rifle. I'll have to try some 3031 now.
