Interesting Model 85 introduced recently w/ octagon barrel, open sights(buckhorn type??) and in caliber 375HH. Basic walnut/checkered stocks, and have no doubt as to the strength of the action, but don't think I have ever seen this offering before on that platform. Is it their answer to the Ruger NO. 1 Tropical?? Weighs some 9 lbs. and do like the octagon barrel approach. Might consider one myself.

I havent seen those guns but I prefer the 1885 over the No.1

Considering how popular the Rugers are I dont understand why there hasnt been more competition from 1885's before.
