Been chatting with Michael458 about a lighter weight bullet than the 900s being offered in the BBW#13s and the 825-850 NonCon patterns. We have briefly discussed a bullet weight around 750-800 for solids and 680-720 for a corresponding NonCon. I promised Michael I would not quote prices as it has not been finalized. I would not be able to afford the entire run of 10 boxes myself. Perhaps if there were other interested parties a larger batch,"cheaper by the dozen"?

What say ye gents?

Andy

"Cheaper by the dozen"?

Well, in college I was in a movie "Cheaper by the inch..."

but I digress...

PM me and invite Michael. I am a bullet hoarder (or whore, depending on one's point of view) and will, to my great chagrin, probably get in on this endeavor.

I didn't know you made cup point penetrators Rob! I was only aware of one profile of your bullets, and that is the "crayola-tip" 750.

They are actually cupped slightly. I made some copper 900 gr bullets with an even more pronounced cup in them. I thought it might aid in soft tissue penetration. The 750 gr bullets when driven over 2500 fps penetrate further than an other bullet I've seen in the .600-Rob

I will certainly vouch for that. I think a few of mine launched last Spring might just now be slowing down Eeker

I have now discovered I can shoot about 40 rnds of 900@2150 in an afternoon and still be able to drive home and work the next day. This is with the break on the muzz. What pray tell is the recoil like of a 750@2500+ compared to the 900@2150?

I actually--and you probably gonna find this funny--feel better shooting 40 of the 900s than I do shooting 40 of my top .375H&H loads! This is indeed the difference in punch vs push!

drew

When Corbin still had his 600 OK and we were doing some test work with it his loads were 900s from 2000 up to 2150 fps, and while all the shooting had to be done from the bench it was not unpleasant to deal with even then. Lot of muzzle rise, but recoil was like you say, a push instead of punch. Not bad at all, but of course the thing weighed 11 lbs, good god!

You won't believe it, but the reduction in felt recoil is substantial.

Oh for Pete's sake! homer

11 pounds is too much for your Gumby-like physique to handle? 11 pounds?!?!?!

If you ate Sunday dinner at my house, 11 pounds would be the weight of the bowl of spaghetti you would be expected to eat! With half a loaf of semolina Italian twist bread and at least three meatballs each weighing aproximately 8 ounces.

Is it any wonder you work with those puny .458 bullets. Probably can't lift anything heavier to load into a cartridge.

In all seriousness, be well and stay safe on this New Year's Eve and have an even better New Year.

My 2cd wife is Italian, and she kept me full of tomato sauce for years! I got noodled up about 5 times a week!

Had to take Zantac every day, not sure if it was because of the tomato sauce, or her driving me insane? Maybe both!

Happy New Year Paul, Rob, Drew, Rich, and all!

The 750 gr bullets even at 2500 fps and up have definitely less recoil than the 900 gr bullets at 2150 fps or so. More like 585 Nyati level recoil than the typical .600 Ok level. The crayon shape feeds smoothly and the damn things penetrate like hell. The old wives tails about .600's not penetrating were certainly proven wrong. These bullets are also cheaper to make than the big 900's.
I've got 150 of the 750 gr bullets left on the shelf now if anyone wants some.-Rob
