What kind of velocity could you get with the 600 grain bullets? I mean was case capacity limited a bunch by the bullet's length? Just curious.
No worries on the car ID. I bought the 328 precisely because it had the 308's classic lines.
You could safely get ~2500 fps with RL19 or H4831 under a 600g Barnes original in your 460WBY. The loads will be somewhat compressed.

Mike BirdwellI own one, & I enjoy the smile it puts on my face when I touch it off! But then I enjoy even more to watch one of my buddies face when he touches it off. They are afraid it's going to hurt & it usually does. It's just mind over matter, Just roll when the recoil & enjoy!

.366torqueWhile I don't buy into stereotyping Weatherby owners as arrogant, flashy and "boorishly ill mannered to common folk", ( I used to own a custom Weatherby) my dream rifle was a CRF 375 H&H. It was the first magnum cart I ever saw and shot. It was an uncle of a friend of my dad, who used it in Africa to take a Rhino.

Dr BIf I had a 460wby I would thank God that I wasn't stuck with a lott. The I would take it hunting.

What kind of extractors do Weatherby's have?
For that reason, I'd sell it, buy two CZ 550's in 458 Lott, a reloading press, brass, dies etc. and maybe a tag, or two.

I have never particularly Weatherby rifles - to me they have always seemed like the ugly kid on the block.
But I am slowly changing the way I think about them. I would like to give a Weatherby Mk5 DGR in a sensible caliber a go.

Take it up to the rifle shooting range and see how many would shoot it.
