Getting ready to start training for my next Safari and I need a belt slide to hold 6 rds of 8 bore. Anyone know where I might find one? Thanks.

Find a tack shop and have them make one for you.

John, getting something custom made is probably the easiest, but these guys have 8 and 4 gauge leather belts:

http://www.euroguns.co.uk/acat...Cartridge_Belts.html

I bought an exceptional like new second hand Westley Richards 8-bore cartridge belt a few years back(complete with detachable shoulder sling-I can't imagine what it would weigh filled). I don't see it listed on their site, but they may have such items or be able to whip one up.

What do you plan to hunt with your 8?

Thanks for the link Bob, with a belt full of 8 bore I certainly will not be running from any trouble! I will try and find a custom job. The plan is to start with a Hippo, then Buffalo and on to Ellie assuming both the bullet and I can perform as required !

John, that sounds awesome! I hope you'll post pictures of your hunt here to share. I used a flat point 2000gn slug cast from lyman#2 in my 4 two years ago on an elephant and it did fine on a body shot. I haven't hunted with an 8, but one of mine was apparently used quite a bit on elephant, rhino, and buff.

I'm sure folks would love to hear about your rifle, loads, bullets, etc.

Best Regards,
Bob
