Regarding: This should serve as a stark reminder to folks contemplating a rifle chambered in a cartridge for which either no standard, or several 'standards', exist. George I see no problem in this at all - just follow one simple procedure: Order the rifle from your favoured gunsmith, supply him with the cases you are going to use (tell you are only going to use reloaded ammo in the rifle) and tell him to work up loads and sight in the rifle using reloads with your brass. Of course he is only going to deliver a rifle to you which works flawlessly. Should there be any problems, they are not your headache but his. And you do not have to solve them. The gunsmith on the other hand has to. I use this procedure reg. my new 577 Tyrannosaur rifle where there is no standard from SAAMI or CIP. I have bought 550 cases from Horneber (lifelong supply - I have gotten 25 reloads out of Horneber brass cases earlier). My gunsmith knows that I will only use reloads and he will only use Horneber cases when proof testing and sighting in the rifle. | ||
