I have one on loan and need to switch barrels from 22-250 to 416 Remington.

How do you do it?

There appears to be a locking lever or cam on the underside of the bolt carrier that should allow me to change bolts heads, but thats as close as Ive got to figuring it out!

Another odd thing is there appears to be two different set screws underneath the barrel and forearm. One fits an allen screw, but the other does not.

Any help would be appriciated!

Andy

Andy- is this a legit question? 22-250 to 416?

The 416 barrel won't fit on the standard R93- you need to swap out the fore end.

There are two screws that hold the barrel to the fore end- sounds like you have found them They are the same size, and are a standard allenhead size- typically the Blasers come with a tool for this, but a combo allen set will have the size you need, and yes, they are the same size.

You need to swap out the mini bolthead for a magnum one- I don't know, the 416 may have an even bigger bolt head, and you need to swap out the magazine. To swap the bolt, turn over the entire bolt assembly, and you will see if you push the tab underneath with a small screwdriver, it will go to the left then release. Pull the bolt off and replace it, leaving the spring on the rod that you just removed the bolt from. You have to be careful to line up the slotted areas of the inner and outer bolt (it has sort of a shroud) or the tab won't seat and allow you to snap it back into place.

There are probably better ways to explain it, but this is the best I can do. Once you have done it you can swap out barrels and calibers in about 1 minute.

Hope this helps.

Mr. Andy,

Make sure you try metric and standard Allen wrenches in the socket head screws.

404 and John,

Thankyou both for assistance.

It is a boxed presentation grade set of barrels and fore-ends, with bolt faces and magazines. Barrels are 22-250, which Ive shot, a 7mm Remington with S & B scope, 300 winchester barrel w Zeiss, and a 416 that looks like a lead pipe with high deep-V shaped iron sights I dont much care for.

Great trigger and wood.
