I am having a 404jeffery built. Does RCBS make dies? Have been to their website and others, midway, cabela's,etc. I can't seem to find anyone that makes or carries the dies. Also need a good source of reloading data. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes and so does Redding but, they both charge well over $230 for them. I have a set of CH4D that I paid $150 for. Although they won't win any beauty contest, they turn out good ammunition. I just checked their website http://www.ch4d.com/ and they are $145.

Maybe now that CZ is chambering the 404 J, Lyman will start making dies for $25 like the 416 Rigby...

Mine are Redding. Well made!
The last CH4D shell holder I had was so out of specs you couldn't prime the case.
Last set of 475 #2 Jeffery dies I ordered from CH4D came as 475 #2 NE. Wrong bullet diameter, after I spend 20 minutes on the phone making sure that they understood what I was ordering.

The dies were replaced, just a hassle. I haven't had a problem with RCBS, Redding, or Hornady!

You may want to try Midsouth Shooters Supply.

RCBS Quoted me $250+ for a set and they were 4 months out.

Midsouth had them for $150 +/- and they were in stock. RCBS Dies too.

If they are out of stock they may be able to tell you their anticipated delivery date too.

Thanks for all the help, but still need good source of reloading data. I have used search function and looked at bunch of old posts, everybody has their favorite loads but how are they coming up with them?
Barnses has bullets, but their website has no load info for the 404. I do chronogragh all my loads. Need date for woodleigh's too. Again the help is appreciated.

Barnes is getting ready to release their latest reloading manual, Midway shows shows an instock date of 3/31. If you can't wait 'till then, call or email them and see if they will help you out.

I've always heard that Woodleigh is very forthcoming with load data if you email them.

Did you go to the home page here and check the reloading page? It has several loads. I think if you post a question on the reloading page you will get a host of loads. I can get you some as soon as I can get to my reloading data sheet. I loaded for it several years ago. Haven't played with it recently. I had some fun with it. Good hunting. "D"

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

You'll find very little printed data for loading the 404jeffery. The guys here probably have more experience collectively than any other site/source out there. I've got about 500rds through my rifle now w/ 300gr, 340gr, 350gr, 380gr & 400gr softs & solids. If you want to swap some data, PM me.thumb I'm getting ready for a trip to the Caprivi this year for buffalo & while I already have my favorite loads, I'm always trying some new powder/bullet combos.
