Keep using .458Win ZKK602 and forget about the Nott.

A simple question. What will you be hunting that requires the extra power of the Lott?

The lott is a much better round in the big BRNO or CZ 550 action as it uses up the mag length and you have no sliding back and forth of rounds that you get with smaller win mag. I had my .458 winnie converted to a .458 lott and I am glad I did it.

Guess I was not clear in my phrasing here, always tricky in a foreign language. The question was not if I should get a Lott, but whether I should keep and convert the BRNO 602, or go for a new 550. Cost will be about the same. I wonder about the rumours of lousy quality in the new 550. Is it just a rumour? Anyone with hands on experience?

Answer is easy. If you have already learned the 602's safety ... keep it and have it rechambered to the Lott. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Knifemaker, http://www.mstarling.com

Rechamber the 602 I reckon, you will be more used to it and no doubt the action will be nice and smooth.

Ok and thanks friends. I have just had the 602 for a short time, and keep having these images of me pushing the safety forwards as hard as I can as the buff charges... he he. Anyway, I have hunted with a number of different guns, and safeties, and can for the life og me never remember how I got the safety off in a situation where I have shot game! That includes a number of different shotguns I have used while hunting grouse in the mountains of Norway. So I guess I will go for the 602, and let my other rifles rest for a while until I am used to the safety. Enjoy your weekend fellas, and thanks.
