Just to give you another price for comparaison, I bought a MacMillan drop-in stock for my CZ 550 .416 Rigby four months ago new from the manufacturer. In addition to the stock I asked for a Pachmayr Decelerator pad and sling swivel mounts. The cost was 413 US Dollars, not including shipping.

I have posted an ad in the classifieds for a McMillan stock for my CZ458 (the wood in the humpback is beautiful, but so much needs to be done!!!). I have got this offer: The color is Brown,it is in like new shape, it is contoured for a #6 barrel (like your .458 Lott), it has mercury recoil reducers in the butt, and Push Button QD sling swivels, it also has built-in heavy recoil reinforcements in the construction of the stock, finally it has a 1" decelerator recoil pad. $300.00 plus shipping. Is this a fair price? Looks like the listed price at McMillan is about $390 new, or am I missing something? Anyone know if the mercury weights can be removed? I dont mind recoil, but do mind carrying extra (too much) weight when not at the range. Thanks

It's fair, but not great. I've bought McMillan stocks for $279, but they did not have the recoil reducers or any reinforcement (McMillan stocks don't usually require reinforcements). George
