416 remington, roughly 2600fps muzzle velocity

I know at 50 yards, in water, the front flattens out and the pedals almost shear.

I shot this one at 200 yards, perforated about 5 gallons of water, 6 jugs total, went through a 2x4 and was sitting nice and clean after falling off the next 2x4. I say about 5 gallons and 6 jugs because it hit near one side of the jugs and went through handles, so it wasn't constant water all the way through. It still managed to punch a clean circular hole through the board backstop without yawing. I think this is pretty good expansion considering the yardage.
The 45ACP is for size comparison

Thanks for the report and pictures. The 350 TSX groups very well in my 416 Ruger.

Good bullets. The 416 is an excellent general purpose caliber for heavy game. Hits hard and penetrates well with good downrange speed retention.

A 300gr TSX recovered from Bull Moose shot with my 416 Ruger Alaskan. Range was 80 meters and impact speed was about 2500 fps. A 1 shot dropped right there kill. Have also used the 416 caliber 350gr TSX at similar range and at lower impact speed on Moose which shot clear through as expected since it's heavier.

There are 2 bullets I judge the accuracy in every one of my rifle by; the tsx and the accubond. If I can't get a rifle to shoot either of these bullets well, no other bullet will make the rifle more accurate. In every rifle I've owned, I have gotten the tsx and accubonds to shoot better than any other bullet other than berger. Gamekings are a close 2nd for accuracy.

If there is no wind, This load will shoot under 1/2 moa out of my stock Win M70 (83.5gn Varget, 3.59 COL)

I remember when the Barnes X first came out they were see as (and other following mono bullets) as the answer for the real high velocity stuff like 300 Wby, 30/378 Wby etc.

However, the more you see of them the more they seem to be best in the bigger bores.

Went lengthwise front to rear and found the bullet in the hind. Collapsed dead right there. Deadly reliable caliber.

I have shot one young double forkhorn moose with the 416 Ruger and 350 TSX. I will guess the muzzle velocity from the 20" barrel was in the 2400fps range +/- 50 fps. Distance was approximately 80yds via GPS.
It was a slight quartering head-on shot through the brisket area. At the impact the moose acted as though it was going to sit on its butt. Though quivered and tipped over on its side very dead before its ass made ground contact.

All I can say to bullet travel, is that a few ribs severed on entry. I was by myself, late in the evening with typical rain. So bullet path is actually unknown. I suspect it may have been stopped in the extremely full stomach area. This was the fullest critter that I may have ever seen. He was so stuffed with browse matter, laying on his side, immediately after the kill that he looked bloated.

The reaction to the bullet impact was quiet impressive to me. I know impact reaction is not a consistent thing and has many variables, regardless of cartridge or bullet. So far though, the TSX's in 338, 375, and 416 have performed very well for me on moose.
