Yes,I know they exist as I owned one back in the Eighties and regret selling it,though it would hang up now and then(guess thats why I sold it) But,now I want to get one converted and I am sure it will make a Helluva Hog Gun here in the Georgia woods! So,does anyone know of any, seen any,or know of some gunsmith doing these? Thanks

Not exactly the same thing, but John Wootters had a BAR in .416 Taylor built for his wife back in the 1980's, but I don't know who did the work.

In handloaders Digest 12 Edition there is an artical by Karl Bosselmann who has one in 416 Taylor. The gun started its life as a .300 Win

He mention in the artical that a Arizona
gunsmith and barrelmaker named Bill Atkinson
has done the .458 Win conversion for petersen
publishing some years ago(back then)
Anyway the treasuremap to a BAR in .458 Win is
found in the Handloaders Digest 12TH Edtion
on page 56......good luck! mgun

I wish that I had one in .358 Norma!!! Cool

SAFARIKID, I just ordered one Handloader's Digest #12 from Amazon. They only had two, but they were less than $3.00 each, plus shipping (less than $7). thumb

Thanks guys for the info and I also got Handloader #12 on the way!...Maybe a .338 BAR would be easier to convert to a .416 Taylor as all is the same, except the hole size in the barrel!Hmmmmm, time to get on the phone and find the right Gunsmith!

I did read of one once, and I believe the writeup was in a Gun Digest. The rifle started out as a .338, I believe. This must have been 20-30 years ago, don't remember what year. But I recall that it was a completely satisfactory arrangement.
