I am looking at a used CZ550 416 Rigby, clearly marked "Safari Classics" on the receiver. However the rifle looks virtually identical to the current CZ550 American and has none of the features of the current Safari Classics (barrel moumted swivel, fancy wood). Is this just an older version of the current "standard" 550 Magnum or are there other differences. Thanks!

That is a standard model 550 chambered to .416 and is worth around $700-$750. I have one that I had re-chambered to .458 Lott from .458 Win Mag and it too is roll marked CZ 550 Safari Classic. I paid less than $700 for mine.

They're all marked "Safari Classics." CZ just puts different stocks and barrels on them and charges different amounts based upon that. There is a 416 Rigby for sale in the classifieds with upgrades from AHR. Might be worth a look. (I have no connection to the seller.) ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris
