Aside from M1999, are they're any other reasonable, preferably cheap, big bore actions in Stainless?

Also, if anyone comes across a "beater" priced mauser in 458 win, Lott, or 450 Ackerly, please let me know.

Remington says they are going to have the .375 Model 798 in stainless. I do not know if it is available.

Watch the classifieds here and places like Gunbroker for inexpensive big bores. You already know this, but the ones with more cachet tend not to go cheaply (Model 70, Whitworth, etc.). Generic commercial Mausers, Enfields, etc. can go for less. I think there is a .458 barrelled action on Gunbroker for under $400 right now.

Go for the Montana 1999 it rocks and they can build you a 460 weatherby on their long action which retails for $582 and will handle 130,000 psi (per their testing and report). I went by the factory last week and those guys are great.
