Well, after a bit of waiting (caught the flu bug) I installed my newly acquired Burris FF III on my Ruger 458 Lott. It was easy to install, easy to adjust and looks pretty slick on the rifle. The only hiccup is the bolt lever slightly touches the base of the mount when opened with some force. I will need to grind off about 1/16" on the corner of the base. Accuracy is still pending, but I got it on paper and shooting pretty good. I have been suffering from the flu for the past 2-3 days, so after about 10 full loads off the bench, I decided I was done... I really like this and think it could be bad medicine for some future elephants or buffalo.

Shooting a Lott while you've got the flu? Now, that's tough. I will give you a wide berth in a dark alley.... P.S. feel better soon. LWD

I mounted mine on the forward base, so as to remove the bolt interference issue. Mounting a red dot forward is not a problem and it can be used with eyes open. I actually liked it better on the forward base. Killed my 2011 Elephant with that set-up on the RSM .458Lott. Get well and try it on the forward base. Good luck. Any issues with the case clearing the rear of the mount when mounted on the front?

None at all. Probably fired 50 full house 458Lott 480gr. CEB loads without a single issue. Really, it was a great set-up - FF II at that time. Mike ______________ DSC DRSS (again) SCI Life NRA Life Sables Life Mzuri IPHA "To be a Marine is enough."
