Most of the Japanese 378s (very light barrel) are 100% Big Grin

And the seller throws in a box of factory ammo with 19 of 20 rounds remaining ... for free!

The US made 378s are much better with the Wby No 3 barrel, same as the 416 and the Accumarks.

I think what makes the 378 such a hard kicker is the velocity makes them a big 300 Magnum and so lots more bench shooting looking for the ultimate combination of velocity and accuracy as compared to other big bores.

There are definitely thresholds with recoil. For me a 338 Winchester and the 375 in the same rifles are about the same, the 375 a little heavier.

But in the same rifles the 378 is way more than the 338/378.

Nothing quite like spotlight shooting in winter with a 378 Big Grin Those old 270 Hornady Round noses and also the 270 grain Winchester Power points aare really something on big roos, pigs and foxes.

I think I'll pass. Our 7.25 lb (with scope) 375 Weatherby and my 11.25 lb 500 Jeffery are quite enough for me Smiler

Chuck

If it has a muzzle brake the Japanese 378's are heavy kickers, but tolerable. They are hunting guns so the lighter weight has value there. I would not own one without a brake, however.
