Surestrike....I feel your pain brother, no BS! But my experience with CZ weapons is better than that of some other rifle companies that I've delt with as of late... I have a factory custom that runs like a Blue-spotted-ape - she's awesome! My PH had an excellent 550, my buddies have all had great luck as well...But as with anything nowadays in the gun industry you're gonna get those guns, runs of guns that are as you have described. The best rifle I own is built on a CZ action for that matter. I hope you have busted your nutt here and will give these rifles a chance - they really are good and can be made great for not too much $$ Let us know how they treat your particular issue, Jeff

My two CZ 550s, a 375 H&H Magnum Safari (hogsback stock)and a 6.5x55 Full Stock fed fairly well out of the box. Only thing noticeable was the bolts were just a tad sticky but no problems jamming. I prefer the hogsback (Lux) versions. I'm happy with my CZs. If CZ-USA would import the 550 Lux again, I'd snacth a 9.3x62 in a hearbeat. BH1 There are no flies on 6.5s!

If all else fails send it to Jim Brockman. I can assure you he will do a good job with it. He took my CZ in 416 and turned it into a dream rifle. It has become my go to rifle. I may even see if I can find a deer load for it. Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

Aint that the truth. I stayed away from the cz merely on the fact that with the drop in the stock the recovery time between shots must be counted on a calander.. 3 quickies off hand at the hundred meter..Rugers just plain work..I'm not delerious with the wood, but the gun goes like stink

Surestrike: this topic was discussed in another topic just recently. "Pete E" made a comment that i think is absolutely correct. he said essentially that Americans make a lot of their own problems by trying to fix them instead of holding the manufacturer accountable. he is right. we tend to take a piece of crap and try to make up for the shortcoming of the guy who made it. i think we do it sometime because we don't want to be as pointedly critical as some other people do. other times we just want the problem to go away as quickly as possible. and then again, some of us are just tinkerers and like to screw around fixing stuff. anyway....it can be a major pain and it may be really inconvenient to be without the rifle at this time....but the real answer is to send it back and raise hell with the people who made the rifle and took your money under the false pretense that it was usable. if they don't make good immediately, get back here and smear the hell out of them in public. that seems to be the way we treat American gun makers. let's get Europe in on this too. i agree with it for both continents.
