I notice the Browning (FN) Safari models have a different bolt release than standard. Is it designed to push for release or ?? Can’t figure out why they changed it and how it works differently. Have never seen one in person.

If you are talking about the later spring style abomination, it was a cost cutting measure. Eliminated receiver machining of the ears and went from a machined release to a stamping. Ugly.

Yes I guess a flat spring is what it looks like. Figured it had to be some cost issue. Just looks ugly as hell...

Lee, I think the statement 'later' is incorrect. If I am not mistaken, rifles destined for the American market had this feature, European FN sporters not so. I have owned 3 of these rifles from late 1959 through 1964 and all had the spring type bolt stop-ejector. BTW, I have never had an issue with the function. Hard to beat one for a factory made rifle. I would crawl over a pile of the current crop for one of these for a hunting rifle.
