Unless it's a different gun, it has been posted for several weeks. I am kinda surprised it is still there.

According to the 2006 price list the retail for the .404 and .450 are $2350. The .505 Gibbs is at $2500.

I ordered one, waited 4 months; when it arrived, I sent it back. A piece of junk. Crappy wood, crappy finish, the safety needed a hammer to pound it from one position to the other, the finish was pebblely, and it had a big ass scratch on the barrel.

It set up ok, but the magazine area of the rifle is very fat, feels more like a club than a rifle. Quality WAY below normal CZs (I have several others).

A PIECE OF JUNK.

I've got one of those. O.K. by me, and I paid a lot less than that, with wood I like better.

I have seen them come in to the dealer with cracked stocks. The occasional lemon happens. The occasional oops by UPS happens too.

These rifles have a McGowen 10" twist barrel.
I've got the perfect load data for 400 grainers (Woodleigh) at 2200 fps or 2400 fps, for 380 grainers (North Fork)at 2525 fps, for 340 grainers (North Fork) at 2700 fps. Soon I will have some 400 grain Barnes TSX and 320 grain GSC HV data.

The .404 Jeffery is the best of the CZ offerings. It has the most perfect match of box width to the cartridge, and should be the slickest feeder if polished properly.

There is no accounting for the sour grapes and the occasional lemon with a factory gun. It happens.

I have a dozen CZ 550 Magnums. I look before I buy. Seems even the sour grapes guy got his money back.

BTW, it is spelled ".404 Jeffery." Cute handle anyway.
