Can anyone share any experience with CEB Raptors being used on lion and/or leopard? I'm particularly interested in the 275gr, .375" Safari Raptors (not the thick skin game version) at 375 H&H velocities.

Thank you,

I shot my Zim lion back in 2012 with the CEB Raptors out of my 9.3x74R double. Put him down with authority. Wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

I used a 230 gr Safari Raptor in my .375 H&H on my leopard. One shot, down and done!

CEB Raptors are, in my opinion, one of the best hunting bullets. Those blades break off to slice and dice the vital organs. The solid base keep going straight like a flat nosed solid.

I have never hunted any cats but I'm told from hunters who have, that Raptors really give quick kills on lions.(They sure roll up cape buffalo and save a lot of fussin'.)

My dad took his leopard in 2011 with my VC 375 Flanged using CEB non-con (before Raptor tip came out)

I'll let you know in August. I'm hunting Lion this summer and I'll be shooting a 375 H&H with 270 gn Safari Raptors. I've shot a bunch of plains game with this load as well as 2 Grizzlies and one Black bear that was 530 pounds. Just about everything dropped in its tracks. I'm thinking this is going to be a good combination.

Thank you all for your feedback. The 275gr raptors shoot very well out of my 375 H&H. I'm still early in the planning phases for 2025, but a cat is certainly the fore-runner of primary game.

Any bullet made of copper will work.

Avoid, at any cost, A-Square Lion Loads!

Those were the stupidest design ever!

Not so SAeed, they were great on P-dogs and rock chucks, not quite enough penetration for Coton tail rabbits, so take only broad side shots on rabbits! tu2
