Hi all, I'm almost finished fitting my 470NE barrel. While I have it in the lathe, can I cut the chamber in the lathe under power? I've done two chamber jobs before, but did it with a Tee handle and hand power. Could I cut most of the chamber in the lathe, then finish by hand?
TIA

Chambering in the lathe is the way to go. With the barrel indicated correctly and a floating reamer holder you get the least possible runout.

For good information on chambering barrels check the gunsmithing forum at practicalmachinist.com

I don't have a floating reamer holder. Where can I get one?

Sorry, don't know where to buy tools in the US (I live in Germany).
Do ask the folks at the link I posted above! They can provide all the information you need.
