Hi Rancher,
They make two, one is the Express as Mingo mentioned for the BBK and Bruno 602 and the other is the AHR for the CZ550. Here is a link to the page http://www.mcmfamily.com/mfsinc_n/custom.html
I hope that worked as I haven't tried it before.
Take care,
470 Mbogo

It looks like the Express will be required for the CZ 550 Magnum with its drop box.

I am very happy to see that the BBK-02 is specified as being fitted with the Express stock too. My robo-stock laminate with all the cross bolts, axial bolt, and pillars will have to be replaced with a McMillan Express whenever MY 470 Mbogo gets finished. Parts is parts.

Here is a picture of one of the McMillan Express stocks in plain brown, another chance to show off my 510 JAB, whose three position safety will get touched up as soon as the 470 Mbogo is finished by the smith. Parts is parts.

PC,
That is the standard Express model that fits a CZ 550 Magnum or BRNO(CZ) ZKK 602. The 510 JAB is a 602. It comes in all the pretty swirlies of camo or glitter that McMillan offers. I chose plain brown because the black and brown of this no-nonsense gun looked right to me.

This is a hand laid up fiberglass stock with serviceable checkering molded into the surface panels.

A fiberglass stock is a "composite" stock because of the fiberglass layers, epoxy resins, and fillers in the butt anf forearm that "compose" it.

McMillan will make a special order heavier stock that is solid fiberglass and epoxy if you want a heavier stock with no lightening filler use in the barrel channel or butt areas.

The standard Express stock is perfect for the biggest bore hunting rifle as it comes, except that a barrel channel bigger than #5 is a custom order or a rework by the smith.

DaggaRon,
Did you check the link that I put up as they now offer a stock called the AHR specifically for the CZ550. It looks the same as the Express stock but without checkering.

Take care,
470 Mbogo

470 Mbogo,
Yes, I did, thanks. It looks to me like that one will not accommodate the 550 Magnum (drop box), but would be for the CZ 550 Medium and such. I am not sure.

I did not recall them saying the Express was for the BBK-02 as well as the CZ 550 Mag and 602, but is so listed now, maybe thanks to Ming sending in his BBK to get a mold made and start up production? I also take it that the BBK-02 and BBK-01 will fit he same stock???

Progress on my 470 Mbogo rifle is coming along. Thanks for your creation. It deserves to be a factory or at least proprietary cartridge. Legitimize that wildcat please!

I would appreciate any headsup on the CH4D dies and Quality Cartridge brass supposedly being made, if anyone hears anything. I check with Dave and Peter about once per month by e-mail. "Later ..." is the gist of what I have been getting.

Ron,

According to McMillan, I will be getting my Express stock for the CZ 550 sometime next week but the BBK-01 Express stock will take a few more weeks to complete. I will post some pictures when I get my BBK-01 Express stock back. Enjoy a wonderful holiday my friend!

Thanks, PC. The McMillan stock is pillar bedded and the barrel recoil lug has a buried/hidden crossbolt in the forearm with epoxy bedding, and free floating from beyond barrel recoil lug out to the forend tip.

There are no crossbolts otherwise, as the McMillan stock is rock solid everywhere else.

Is Mcmillan shipping their Express stocks out in a reasonable time now? They were having some problems 6 months ago. Hopefully they sorted it out!-Rob

diesel_dude,
Kevin Jenkins, AKA "Gun Tailor" did it all. He is in Brentwood, Tennessee, just south of Nashville.

The barrel is a McGowen stainless 1 in 10" twist, 0.875" at the muzzle, 23" without the muzzle brake.

The rifle is 10.75 pounds as shown. Barely agreeable for toting all day. Barely heavy enough to dampen the recoil.

Kevin Jenkins is the "J" in 510 JAB.

Thanks.

My Express stock for the CZ 550 cost $412 not include shipping. This does include installing two mercury tubes in the butt (I supplied the tubes of course) and profile a custom #7 barrel contour. I just got it in the Christmas week. It will go back to McMillan for pillar/glass bedding once my barrel gets here. This stock took exactly 3 months for delivery. Good luck.

Thanks mingo, that's not as bad as I thought it'd be. I guess I'll be getting one!

Quick question, as this'll be my first rifle: Rechamber to .458 Lott then have them restock/bed it, or get it restocked then rechambered? Or doesn't it matter?

Thanks again for the info!

Don't think I'll need the mercury tubes for the .458 Win Mag, though [Smile]
