From my 450 No2 I have recovered a Woodleigh 480 Soft, and 2 Swift 500 gr A Frames, from cape buff, and a Woodleigh Soft and Swift A frame from an eland in Zimbabwe and a Woodleigh Soft from an eland shot in Texas. All bullets mushroomed and penetrated perfectly. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Is that an old Hornady RNSP (Interlok?) or is it the new "Interbond" type? Geez! What is wrong with Hornady? I used one of the old nonbonded ones on a moose once. 500 grain RNSP at 2100 fps impact from a .458 WinMag. That bullet totally shed its core into two lead chunks and the empty jacket. Those three missles crossed the chest and each broke a rib on the off side, and the moose was knocked off its feet and never got up. The Hornady "failed" in dramatic fashion. It killed well THAT TIME.

it is the old type, after what i have seen of the new interbond, i think that the best solution is to use other bullets than the interbond . The loads was 100 grain of Norma 204 powder which i use in the ruger with a 215 behind it. the Asquare surprised me, it was consistent in expansion and it behaved good. I have a large 50 liter palstic can that the top is cut of and filled with wet newspapers first ,and behind it a large cardboard box thats also filled with papers. its nothing fancy but it works and it gives a extra obstackle for the bullet to pass.
