Anybody got a Lee factory crimp die for a .416 Rigby they want to sell? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. I just looked this up on the web and I think you may be SOL for a .416 Rigby factory crimp die only because of the base diameter of the case. "Factory Crimp Dies RIFLE: A Custom Factory Crimp Die for rifle cartridges can be made for any cartridge with a bullet diameter up to .458 inch and a maximum outer diameter at the base of .580. We need: Payment of $29.00 ($25.00 + $4.00 processing fee) Dummy cartridge (a bullet seated in an empty case) Rifle Factory Crimp Dies are cartridge specific and there are a few that cannot be made. Any handgun case that is of a bottleneck design qualifies because the die would have to made much like the rifle factory crimp dies but we do not make die bodies shorter than that you would find on a .223 Remington. Examples would be the 30 Mauser, 7.62 x 25 and the .357 Sig. The 50 AE also applies because the case is too short for the die bodies available." "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? I just placed an order with Lee Precison for a FC die for my 600 Overkill... If they can make one for that they sure could do one for the Rigby... I think they told me that they have made them for the 577 Trex as well... They can custom make large series FC dies that require a larger thread... 1 1/4 x 12" Thread... Payment of $79.00 ($75.00 for the die set + $4.00 processing fee) Bullet seated in an empty case Matt V ______________________ Sometimes there is no spring... Iguess you got the word from Lee. All I had to go by was what they said on their website and the Rigby was .008-.010" over what they stated. I guess it pays to call. "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? I think Dave Bush has one for his 500 Jeffery, that’s where I got the idea… When I first called Lee the secretary told me that they could not do it… I called a second time and asked for a tech and he said they could, we’ll have to see how it turns out in a few weeks… Matt V. ______________________ Sometimes there is no spring... That´s good news! Because exactly on a DG Cartridge I want a crimp for sure, and the LEE FCD is the best there is ... I wish, they would, after doing some such dies as "customs", simply add them to the regular list ( maybe little more expensive, but available without case and bullet sending ). I wonder why they didn´t so eg with the 9.3x62 long ago ( which is available WITHOUT case sending et al from Triebel! Which means LEE did several - just doesn´t put them on the regular list!? ) H formerly, before software update, known as "aHunter", lost 1000 posts in a minute | |||
