What can you say about the 375 Flanged H&H mag?

Is it a "proper" double rifle caliber, pressure wise?

Where can one get quality brass for this number?
Is it possible to reform a more common case to the 375 Flanged?

I found a nice Krieghof double........

The 375 Flanged is indeed a proper double rifle round!

As far are brass the last GOOD source was Mast Technology's BeLL Brass. I do not know if the folks who bought Mast's machines have any left. As they were closing out, I bought several hundred for a friend who has a Kreighoff with a set of .375 Flanged barrels.

I do not remember who bought the Mast equiptment.

As a side note, and my opine, the market for GOOD double rifle Nitro Express brass is dwindling without BeLL or BELL Brass.

I have done some research on the WWW, and I have come to the same conclusion as you Rusty confirm above.
It is sad, but it seems that there is no way to justify the purchase of a new gun in that caliber.

I have no touble with an unusual caliber, but when there is no supply of good brass, I won�t by a new gun in that caliber.

I guess I have to look for a 9,3 x 74r, this is in the opposite end of the spectrum of "hard to reload" calibers.
I assume that the ballsistics would be very similar also.

There is nothing wrong with a 9.3X74R double rifle.

Brass is easier to come by, not to mention loaded ammo.

The 9.3X74R is very close to the old 400/360 NE round.
As I stated in another thread, the Merkel 9.3X74R is a marvelous little rifle that points well.

According to our NO1 reloading shop here in Norway, Prabellum.no, they have brass for the 375 Mag. FL from Bertram ( Australia ).
Could that be the same brass. ??

Your best bet is to scout around for a good 450-400, they can be had relitivly cheap by comparison..and thats just may be the best double rifle caliber in existence...Searcy makes a new one for about $9500 and from time to time you can pick up an English gun for abour $5500 to $6500....Norma makes brass and bullets are easy to come by.

.375 Flanged Mag. can be a very nice rifle. HDS brass from Huntington has been very good and I had better luck than with BELL.

However, for all around use I have to agree with Ray the .450/400 3" makes more sense if you hope to go the the DC. For North America I think the .375 would get the job done just great and could be little lighter.
