I have the chance to purchase a nice gun in .338 Win. mag, but do not need that caliber. My question is. Can this same action be used for a .375 Ruger or a .416/.375 Ruger? I wish to only re-barrel and go, but not sure about the bolt face and magazine accepting the cartridge???

The bolt face and magazine length are no problems. It may take a little tweaking of the feed lips/rails because the ruger cartridge is a little fatter through the shoulder but the rest of the gun should be good to go.

you can just rebarrel and go if you check the feeding first before you do the rebarrel.

In all likelyhood it'll be just fine!

I would say probably...I just built one on a 98 Mauser in .416 Ruger and had to do some magazine work on it..Dennis Olson did the metal work and I made the stock. I was told if I wanted a drop box that a .338 box would work but I opted for the std Mauser bottom metal..It feeds 110%...
