Has anyone seen one of thse around. I just picked one up off GA and am trying to figure when it might have been made- it looks to be an original chambering in 404J- just haven't seen one before.

It is a model 1100M.

From the pics it looks like a 60s era rifle.

Gee, for that price it seems like a good deal.
Worth an inspection, I'd think!

If it does have a single set trigger then it could be a P-H.

Hopefully there will some date information on the box label. This fellow bought all the Parker-Hale parts when they closed and may know something about it:

Norman Clark

The site has some very good parts drawings at the least.

PH used both Santa Barbara and Zastavia actions on these.
I believe the Santa Barbaras were the late production (I bought a case of .532 bolt face receivers SB PH's in the white in the late '80's maybe early '90's and built on them).

Thanks all for the info- Tiggergate- good link!

Harris - I saw the rifle listed on Sat night, after working hours for the shop- I knew it would go fast, so I pestered the seller via emails and committed to purchase once I saw photos.

I think it is a Santa Barbara action, from the pics. I plan on restocking it with a more traditional stock design, but first things first, should have it this week and do an eval of it.

Thanks again to all and any additional comments are welcome.

Parker Hale supplied a lot of these in both 375 H&H & 404 Jeffery to various African Game depts. They were very much a work a day rifle, no frills & engineered for reliabilty, the mags on these are a sod to open but will never dump their load by mistake. Thats a really nice example of these & in darker wood than some I saw in london in the 80s. They were still listed after this, I suspect pretty much up till PH ceased production in the UK. Norma loaded Parker Hale headstamped 404 ammo, I have one in my collection. Not that its any of my concern but if it were mine I would be tempted to keep it as is & enjoy it just like that, they were a real deal rifle rather than a show piece. Enjoy yours anyway you fancy. Smiler
Steve.
