OK now thanks to you guys my Whitworth Christmas present is on the way. So it will be time to put some glass on top.

After seeing Billy's 1.25-4.5 Titan at Jeffe's I liked the looks of it for the money. Since this rifle is not going to really be a "dangerous game" rifle but more of a big game rifle I was leaning towards the 1.5-6 Titan. Likewise the scope will be use 99% of the time but I would like a quick release of some kind. The scope is 30mm.

I have a set of Leupolds QDs I'm GOING to use on another rifle but I have no experience with them. I have a set of Talleys that are on my Dakota but I have never removed them except once to see how they worked.

So assuming I go with the 1.5-6 Titan and plan to leave the scope in place normally what ring and base system would you use?

As usual just my $.02

I've got a set of Leupold QD's on my Whitworth .375 and it has been to Africa and back ,etc with no problems. I actually have two other sets on a FN .338-06 and a 7x57. POI of impact will vary maybe 1/4 in. at 100 yards left and right, virtually 0 up and down at least on mine.

I really like the Talley's on my Whitworth. You can get them with hex screws instead of removable levers. Easy to take off with a hex key, and they leave the irons in easy view. Bob

Hey Bob. While the stock on the one I just bought isn't close to yours I think ebony vs plastic would be nice. Could you PM me with the name and contact info on the guy that cleaned up your stock.
