- I just traded for a Ruger RSM in 416 Rigby. It won't feed factory ammo. Pretty dissappointing on a rifle that retails for $1750 and $125 a box Ammo. I realize it can be fixed - but I shouldn't have too......DJ

DJ: Curious to hear how the Ruger won't feed ammo. Have you taken the matter up with Ruger? I have one of the original Rugers in 416 and it had some bolt sticking issues, but they've been resolved. I'd be curous to hear what Ruger has to say. jorge

Had a 1 year old M70 416 Rem Mag that just didn't shoot very well.Fooled around with it for quite some time. Had it re-barreled to 458Lott and found out why. One of the lugs on the bolt was not making contact with the lug on the receiver, had to have the lugs lapped. I have a CZ 416 Rigby with a Jim Brockman laminated stock that I took to Zimbabwe for buffalo, got a lot of good comments from various PH's. It is a large, bulky rifle, sort of a "Sears Craftsman" of a rifle, but I like it, shoots like a champ. Just my $.02, your mileage may vary.

Dr.Duc The recoil plate lokated in the stock is plastic. I glassed my Cz 550 in 375cal when I got it half yr ago and found out that thers one plastic plate in front of the action. I heard also rumors of broken stocks, thats why I glassed the gun properly. The original Hogback stock fits me well,I`m a big sonnavabith The quality of wood is a question but lets see,a custom made stock can be made of proper wood if so. For me this gun is a hunting tool, more or less. For the money,y get lot of gun. Moosehunt starts soon.. Elias

Jorge, I haven't yet decided on whether or not to keep the gun (came by it in a trade). I'm in it to where I could make somebody a good deal or spend a little on it and still not be in it for too much. If I decide to not sell it I don't know if I want to twiddle with it myself or send it to Mark Penrose or another real professional. Decisions....Decisions........DJ
