Gentlemen I finally did the test shooting of my home-made square hole bullets and the cup point solids. The square hole bullets penetrated 60 cm in phone books and the cup points 70 cm. The velocity was 750 m/sec for the square hole bullets and 700 for the Cup points. The bullets where shoot at 20 meters. Cheers, André Always always use enough... GUN & KNIFE

André, What was your test medium? Dirt? George

Did the front part of the hollowpoint bullets just blow up on impact? George, I read phonebooks in his description. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

Thanks, Paul! Somehow, I missed that. George

Andre, Your hollowpoints look just like Barnes do when they hit a bone, or heavy muscle mass for that matter, at that velocity! They shed their pedals. Thanks for sharing. Are you going to try any different design variations on the hollow point? ASS_CLOWN

Hi Ass_Clown, Actually Barnes X bullets will loose their petals in phone books also. Take care, Dave

Gentlemen Thanks for the feed-back Phone books are very tough and I was expected deeper penetration. I think that they will do better in live game. I will try them in Argentina in about two months. I might shoot a cebu to with the cup points I might try to make the hole of the cup point smaler. I will not have time to make a new design and test it before going to Argentina. The cup points will be made with a 9,5mm cup ( .375) and not the small 5mm cup. That will be done before Argentina. I am very pleased with the cup points performance. It suits the .500 Jeffery with a long solid cool looking bullet. Poul H: The front part broke off and bits was found in the phone books about half way (35cm) Cheers, André Always always use enough... Hi Andre I wouldn't go and make the hole any smaller or your bullets might not open up in game. Try newspaper but soak every page of it. Fill a large container (wheel barrow) and open each section of the newspaper so it gets soaked evenly and try out your bullets. Two boxes of newspaper will be lots (Max 30 inches) You will probably find the petals will stand up better. The bullets looked really good to me for being shot into phone books. I would try to experiment more with the depth of the hole. Take good care, Dave

Dave I might not have time to test the bullets in newspaper before going to Argentina. I will use the bullets on game and hopefully get one if I am lucky. I will try the newspaper thing next time I test. Phone books are way to hard for testing. I am glad that you think that the bullets are doing fine in the phone books. I also think that they will do better in real life. Thanks for your opinion and advise. Cheers, André Always always use enough... GUN & KNIFE
