I used to have a truglo fiber optics on my Remington 700 Safari KS (.416 RM) - 'used' since yesterday an accidental fall broke the front sight into pieces ... actually I cannot complaint about this tru glo performance concerning their brightness, but always doubted about their sturdiness - till it finally broke due to a rather light bump ... Since I have to replace it, I am looking for something more suitable for a hunting rifle (capable to withtstand some shakes and minors strokes, unavoidable in a hunt - and of course the recoil produced by this caliber) Any suggestion will be appreciated ! ------------------------------------------ Μολὼν λάβε Duc, sequere, aut de via decede.

Recknagel makes the best commercial beads for front sights. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes and available from New England Custom Guns. The fiber optic ones are bright, but, as you've experienced, they don't seem to be very durable. Look at one of the large brass beads from Recknagel, and see if it will serve your needs.

Stay with the fiber optic and put on a windowed hood .. Best of both worlds ... .If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....
