The Shadow knows! It looks like my 416, though. I have at least figured out how to post pictures. I was going to post my rifle, but then discovered by floppy drive is dead. Oh well, once it is fixed, or I get the pictures on CD ROM I will post pictures of my rifle.

I saw the rifle before. I just had to remember where, I saw it before. I knew right off it was not a 416 Rigby, 375 H&H or 458 Lott, the action looked too short for the Ruger Big magnum action. I have owned both a Ruger MK I 458 and a Ruger MKII Express 375 H&H.

I have to say I am actually disappointed in this. I too had seen all the posts ragging on Judy and the back and forth. And although I have been on threads where I saw that Judy was harassing and arguing with people who obviously knew better than her, but chalked it up to differing opinions. I didn't realize till now the way it all was.
to judy, I was about to reply to you, asking you a couple of questions about it, and talk to you nicely and politely, same as I do everybody else, like I am sure you seldom get here now. I just don't understand, what was the purpose of posting the pic as yours? to start trouble? Why not just tell us,"hey guys, here is a pic of a rifle that looks just like mine." I got a rifle last week, 375, and rather than take pictures I just said that it looks like the one on the winchester site if anybody wanted to see.

Red - I am truly sorry that I have disappointed you. I did not realize that there were many here at AR that gave a crap <just look at the way I am typically treated>.
To be completely honest though, it would not matter if I posted a picture of my rifle, with me holding it, or even a video clip of me holding it naming posters here at AR by name! They still would all say I 'own no guns and don't know anything'. So I figured what the hay, let's see how long it takes these guys to find this picture on the net. It took 15 minutes! I have said it before, some people need to get a life! You may not find that sad, but I do.
For the record, I am not the first to do this. At least I came clean immediately after the picture was found on the net. I can remember another guy, who seems to be a well loved member of AR now, who posted multiple pictures of rifles and claimed they were his. These pictures were taken from Heym's website, and I believe one or two others. Even when confronted with the truth he continued to argue that these were in fact his rifles and they were completely different than the identical pictures taken from these manufacturers' websites!
He has since changed his posting handle, but back then he was known as 'blackpowderbigbore'.
All I need to 'start something' is to post in general, BTW!

1. I would think an apology would be a great place to start.
2. Think before you type, If you wanted to know how bad a 500 A Square kicks, just ask. No need to carry on about a rifle you don't have.
3. Before you hit the "post" button, say to yourself "Is what I just wrote going to piss anybody off" If the answer is yes think seriously about rephrasing your question or comment.
4. If you don't know what you're talking about, state that at the begining of your post.
Follow the above guide lines and you may just make a friend or two.

I have new virus software, and a firewall but, beyond that don't know what I can do aside from tossing this in the river.
I think it's trapper posting after you that is telling me to leave the forum? No. But, I am going to let the political arena cool off a bit. There are some really hateful trolls there at present and I don't intend to feed them.
8mm, I believe you know all of the posting names I have used here. Have only changed in attempts to avoid certain posters. I always end up 'sounding' like me of course, so they catch on eventually and I have ALWAYS fessed up to who I am & finally just settled on this name and stuck with it. I only come to the guns area to read usually, except for posting in the taxidermy area, and I did have a gun question recently that I got some answers on, got some good input also for a possible future hunt(reading I need to finish, etc -- there are a lot of nice booking agents here on board. The only other thing I can think of to add at this point is I don't intend to give out any more of my personal information on a public message board to a bunch of people who admittedly hate me. If they can't deal with that it's their problem not mine.

Actually, Judy, I don't know of a way to conclusively alter the current environment. Too many people are having too much fun with it the way it is. At least some of the "fun" seems to be quite close to you and your computer, for what it's worth. It would be difficult to view any of this as fun if you were on the receiving end, I'm sure. I would think that anyone who has seen your reception here would agree, even if they didn't want you to post anymore. A forum that can handle the likes of WET, and many others like him, should have no real trouble dealing with this situation, should it? I hope to see you on the forums.
