Thanks for sharing this Bro'dart.
It is great the way one of those little rocket propelled lawndarts can take out a tank and the bridge it is sitting under at the same time. thumb
I used to be a helicopter flight surgeon, and now take care of the families of the men flying those machines. Amen.

Hey Bro',
These are Super Cobras, the latest iteration of the original attack helicopter. Those are TOW missles, 2.75" rockets and , I believe, 20 mm cannon shells.

A few of the impacts looked like laser guided bombs, but I'll have to research and see if these choppers are equipped with laser designators (can't see why not).

I noticed the shots that looked like smart bombs coming in at a high angle of attack, with the chopper camera viewing it from the side. Maybe the chopper was providing a laser for guidance to target? If so those would still be scored as hits for the Cobras. thumb

Lawndart, the high angle impacts are hellfires. The Marine version can shoot both tows and hellfires. The weapon the front seater has selected is in the upper right of the screen (H/F for hellfire, etc). They can designate for bombs and laser guided 155mm's too.

I used to fly F models for the Army until they got rid of them in 96 Frowner Frowner Mad and there is no greater thrill than screaming out of the sky and lighting up something with the 20 and watching it go away. I did a few joint missions with the Marines in Africa and was alway jealous of their birds 'cause the definitely have all the bells and whistles (TWO engines, laser designater, 2 hardpoints for sidewinders, flir, way more payload, etc etc). Great film and brings back good memories! Thanks

Bob
