I got the first one from them a few months back for a 550 on the 600 OK case. Chris was saying there was quite a bit of interest and it definitely warranted making the button. BTW it looks great thru the bore scope. I couldn't see one rough spot. I really like their product and great people to deal with.
I want to see what necking the 600 ok down will do. I picked up barrels in 458 – 475 – 510 -550 and another in 620. I know RGB has done a 510 and was pleased. I want to be ready for when I get the time machine finished and can go back to when mammoths, saber tooth tigers and T-rex roamed the planed. I wonder what that will cost but at least I won’t need to fly the airbus

Any idea when Mike and all will finish up so I can get to work on the 550 mag. The posts are looking good. Have you shot any groups yet? If so, anything stand out?

jeffeossoJohn,
good to hear from you!!
myself, if i could, it would be felix atroc!!!
Neal's the only one shooting the mag.. and getting oVEr 7200 ft/lbs.. and that seems to be a mild load with the 700gr hawk!! (2150+)
wouldn't at all be surprised with 2300 fps with the mag...
so, HEH.. if the 458 win vs lott holds true, the same pressure that the Mag hits with 2300 (lott) should let the express hit 2125 (winnie).. for 7000 ft/lbs with a 700 gr... 577 nitro in a mauser.. with higher SD!!!
You ever going to answer your phone?

Please start working on your 550 RNS super mag.
We are shooting and as Jeff said at 2150 the cases have just sealed the chamber and that gives us around 7200 ft/lbs. By the way our plinking loads are at 1915fps with a 710/715 cast.
We are going to start working on the Express now while we are doing load testing. so the more shooting the better.

fritz454Jeffe,
Whats wrong with 5 of everything. That's my goal. I know it is said that you can't take it with you but I plan on living forever.
It will take that long to finish what I've got "in the pipeline" right now.

GrandpasezJeff- I made a 650 and a 620 belted staight cases, using Boyes brass,Cases are 3.85 in long.Best shape and taper of the two is the 650.But being I have 700 that is easier to make, with bullets and barrels, they are on back burner, like I'd have live to be a ninety to get them done. Along with other bore cases
I have(900HE) the ultimate belted,
straight,perfect shape, blaster designed using
H S brass, that will be able to be used in some regular size BMG actions.Case is 4.35 in long.Medium loads 25-3000 ft lbs, full loads
36-38,000 ft lbs.
But back to 550, I should my 550 barrel soon and will run tests in 550 Mag chambering with long barrel, with all the ball powders to get info for the rest of you.Ed.

Hey I was thinking this weekend when you might make it back down. Anytime you make it back yets take it to the range for some fun.

smallfryHey, that’s allot of progress since the last time I have seen it. I am going to try to be in Yuma this weekend. But donno, work has me all over and I might have to go to Mexico tomorrow or Thursday.
How’s the recoil? Any standard loads you have settled on? Who else is working on one?
I am back from a long Hiatus... or whatever.
Take care.

RNSI hope you can make it I am free both sat and sun. Recoil is very low. So far 6 poeple have fired the rifle and all have said the same thing you need to shoot it and see if you agree. Right now we have worked up to a 700gr at 2150 fps @ 7200 ft/lbs and very low pressure the load is 120gr of 748. We should hit 2300fps with no problem.
