Tim HeraldWho to build me a rifle?
OK guys, Just talked to Duane and he is swamped with work. I am looking to have a .338 turned into a .375HH. Any recommendations of who I might use, with contact info?
Good Hunting,

I have handled and shot the rifle Tip built for Rusty and it is nice. Functions and shoots good.
I have seen other rifle work he has done as well.

Wayne reworked (AHR Upgraded)a M70 for me, so don't restrict him to the CZ or GMA.

505EDTip builds a nice rifle. He does super metal work, and he is priced very reasonable.

budicealei'll throw in another vote for tip burns. for me, he just put a shilen barrel in 223(that he chanbered, crowned and threaded) on a rem 700 action(that he trued) and, if i could hold it still enough, would shoot one bullet after another, through the same hole. that was with the unbedded barreled action bolted into a pattern stock i had. he is presently installing that barreled action into another stock, making me a usmc m40 sniper clone in 223. i should have it back in a couple of weeks and can't wait to see how it shoots winchester 64's and 75 grn amax's. he will do you a good job. BTW, it should look like this
only without the 7500 dollar green scope. i have a black one.

RIPTim,
Here is a good one in your neck of the woods, two hour drive from Lexington, or use USPS:
What .338(WinMag?) rifle action is the "donor?"
I certainly would not dream of suggesting anything other than a .375 H&H, but there are other .375 chamberings available:

.375 H&H
.375 Ruger
.375 Wby
or
.375/404 Jeffery Saeed of 2012
Rusty might have any of those reamers on hand, any day now.
Rusty is doing a couple of .375/404 Jeffery Saeed rifles for me next:
A CZ 550 Magnum, and a standard M98 (FN) with Duane Wiebe bottom metal.
Rusty also builds flintlocks from scratch.
Every good Kentucky Rifleman owns one of those patterned after his choice of Pennsylvania school.

But if it was me, I would go (again) with Wayne at AHR.

I agree on both these statements. I have two rifles from AHR, and ordered a third at SCI earlier this month.

Austin HunterI've used Tip, he's great. The did all the metal work on my 8x57 Mannlicher - great job and service. I also just sent three actions off to Dennis Olson - two 1917 Enfields that are going to become a 35 Whelen and 404 Jeffery - and 7mm Mag FN Mauser with a #5 barrel that he is going to turn down to a #2.
You didn't say whether you needed a stock? I find the best value is to find superb metal work guys like above and then do your own stock.

BaxterBWhen it's time for me to get a 404 or 416 Rigby built, i'll have AHR do it.
If I hit the lottery before then, I'll have Westley Richards build it.

bwanamrmJames Anderson just finished a nice .260 for me a couple of weeks ago and prior to that I had Wayne at AHR build me a .375 RUM, would recommend either depending on what you want. Like Will posted above work horse or show pony... that will work too!
