It's a theoretical round devised by the site owner in honor of his friend, Roy Vincent. As far as I know, no rifles have ever been chambered for it.

think of it as Nitro Express 4-bore rifle.
200gr bullet at 1500fps. Check the posts on Wickliffe 76 and see a single shot rifle being designed by Ed Hubel and Tomo577.

I have a 1" bore. Shoots 3 oz. lead ball, or C cell batteries. 500 gr. F black powder -- a 35 mm film can full.

If you're really interested, we can turn out a longer bbl. for you, mount it on a shoulder-stock. We have the machine shop ready to go for orders.

Or in the case of GeorgeS, figure out a "handgun" configuration for it. *LMAO*

Shooting smoothbore cannons isn't my thing.

I prefer rifling in my bores.

Ahhhhhhhh c'mon GeorgeS . . .

You can grab it by the horns and stick this hand cannon between its eyes.

We could always cast a rifled conical for you. You know . . . Like a rifled shotgun slug.

*LMAO*

Rich,

Don't know how it would do in cape buff, but those numbers are pretty similar to the Brenneke SuperSabot - in the 3" version, over 1500 fps at the muzzle with a one and one eighth ounce projectile of .63 diameter, expanding to one inch after impact.

I haven't seen any penetration test results though. Might try some on our Texas boar and see how that goes.

As I recall, Saeed had the idea after seeing that Lothar Walther makes a 1.008" bore barrel that they needed to make a wildcat to take advantage of such a barrel. I also recall he had some 20mm brass, and hence the idea for the 1.008 buffalo thumper, and that was some 10 years ago.

As far as why it was never developed, I also recall the 700 NE single shot was loaded to such levels that the AR wrecking crew seamed to have reached their limit.

But that was many years ago, so you might want to drop Saeed an pm to see what really came of the project.

Jim and the group,

the cartridge could be a low dollar thunderboomer with Ed Hubel and Tomo577's plans for the Wickliffe SS.
The Safari Kid's 4 bore is about the same thing, and that may come to fruition if we can get 30-40 hardy souls to commit to ordering one. It would be a monster, even for here.
